Someone told me to take zyprexa zydis and im not schizo should i take them? A psychiatrist said it would give me more sleep, that id be less anxious, and that i could concentrate more...Is there something he didnt tell me or is there any negative effect to take those pills?? i mean i dont hallucinations and such for more infos

the_only_solorose replied: "why do you pay to see a psychiatrist if you are going to second guess his suggestions and doubt his knowledge? He went thru nearly a decade, or more, to get to where he is, to obtain his knowledge base and understanding. He is right, zyprexa would probably help you, it has helped a great many people, not all of whom are schizophrenic. Try trusting the man you paid to help you."

Susas replied: "I can think of drugs which may be better for what you have. Certain antidepressants are very helpful for such symptoms. Psychiatrists never tell you everything. Ask a pharmacist. Pharmacists are supposed to help people who have questions about drugs that doctors don't or can't answer. It is wise to ask these questions. See--d04050a1.html for basic information about the drug and ask a pharmacist if it doesn't answer all of your questions. You should expect this information to sound worse than it actually is. Also it only mentions the most common uses of the drug. Doctors may correctly prescribe it for other conditions. If you believe the treatment is not appropriate for your situation, you do not have to take it. You know your body better than your psychiatrist."

solomon replied: "Obviously you have been diagnosed for this medication.. This medication is used for various conditions.. It comes in four strengths.. All medications have various condition usages..You should at least respect the knowledge of your physician when he prescribes a medication.. If you try it and the results are not favorable ,you can always, inform your care giver, and the medication can be changed ,stopped or a different dosage administered.. If no usage is incurred ,, there are no results.. You may improve the quality of your life immensely.. Don't know if you don't try.. If you have certain issues your trying to address,, I should think you would want to give this a chance.. The only thing you have to lose is a little time, and trial.. Good Luck!! SOLOMON"

Should they be zyprexa zydis out of the initial wrappers? I was in a mental hospital (schizo affective) from December of '06 to May of '07 and in late January, they started me on 20 mg Zyprexa Zydis three times a day. As my episode subsided, they reduced it to 10mg, three times a day then finally 10mg twice a day (morning and bedtime). Now I'm in an home where they keep my meds in a cart and hand them out to me at the specific times. However when I was in the hospital, the each individual pill came in a wrapper and a single bubble pack, but where I live now, they took all my Zyprexa out the wrappers (not the bubbles) and put them into a box. Well at the hospital, even at 20mg three times a day, I've never been so tired; back then I felt normal, had energy. I'm only on 10mg twice a day, and I can sleep all day if I don't have to be anywhere. Could this be because they took the Zyprexa Zydis out of the initial wrappers and have somehow effected the meds?

bethany b replied: "I have been on Zyprexa in the past myself and I can not see where having the pill outside of the individual wrapper would effect the medication (mine was never individually wrapped from the pharmacy) so I do not think that could be the problem. It is more likely that your body is starting to change and adjust to the chemical balances your brain is going through. When I was in the psychiatric ward it seemed to my guests sometimes I was to the point of passing out and at others that I was on a flight of fancy! Point being your brain is going to deal differently from day to day until you've adjusted fully. Also if you are on any sort of anti-depressant that could have some effect. I was diagnosed with depression, bi-polar, PTSD and paranoid schizophrenia, shortly after I had being released from the hospital I was sleeping as much as 23 hours a day but no less than 15, it was just a horrible time for me. You hang in there and keep your chin up and you will pull through. Best regards!"

Does Zyprexa Zydis helps with Seasonal depression? if not are there any consequences to take it anyway? i took 1 of the pills wondering if i should take next one

star replied: "You should direct this question to a pharmacist or doctor. And if that medication is by perscription you should only be taking it under a doctor's supervision. Please do not take medical advice on how much to take from this site, as we may not be qualified to help you. That being said, if you need general information do a search of the drug and read about it on the drugs OFFICIAL website. And please speak with a qualified professional about proper dosage and frequency of use, as these are very important and serious issues."

Amy H replied: "Well it does say that Zyprexa may be used for other conditions not listed in the article. If you are nervous or anxious about taking it, you might want to ask a pharmacist about the uses or ask your doctor for a different medication."

Alex62 replied: "Zyprexa is used for more than psychosis. It's often used for bipolar disorder. There are a few other disorders it's used for as well. If you don't understand what your diagnosis is or why your doctor is prescribing Zyprexa, call him/her."
